Barmaley

December 3, 2009

A host of Russian pop stars turned out for the recent opening of Barmaley, a new club owned by singer Oleg Gazmanov. It hasn’t exactly got the hippest name in club history – Barmaley was the pirate in a Russian version of the Dr Dolittle story – but it’s housed in an elegant 18th-century mansion. Despite the pop star crowd, the club is aiming for the masses with beer starting at 25R. In September a 200 seat cinema will open in the venue.
