Sonya, Lisa’s human flatmate whisks her away to a rehabilitation sanctuary in the Congo where Lisa shocks a young primatologist with her taste for fags, gin and junk food. The play explores the power of language through a brilliant mix of puppet, actors and video animation that has made the Handspring Puppet Company internationally famous.

Dancer in the Dark
December 6, 2009Here’s a chance to see a preview of Lars von Trier’s latest film – the musical, ‘Dancer in the Dark’ – in the impressive confines of a former church turned ‘pop temple’. The maker of ‘The Idiots’ and ‘Breaking the Waves’ won the Cannes Festival’s Golden Palm for best film for this production, which also garnered a best actress award for the emotive performance of its star Björk. Expect a musical that is both mutant and engaging.
Freddy’s Ribhouse

At this handsome oak bar, with exposed brick walls and vintage photos of Chicago, the ribs are as good and varied. Baby back ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender. Beef ribs, meaty and flavourful from slow cooking, make a nice change of pace, as does moist charbroiled chicken. Sandwiches include BBQ brisket and pulled pork. Side dishes include fried potatoes sprinkled with seasonings.
