Luis Barragán: The Quiet Revolution

Luis Barragán, Mexico’s foremost 20th-Century architect renowned for the emotional quality and earthy hues of his creations, is the subject of the latest exhibition at the MAK, the Museum of Applied Arts. His work represents a persistent attempt to see the home as a refuge from the trials of urban life where open space and natural landscape form what he calls architectonic space. The exhibition focuses on 40 completed and unfinished projects through drawings, prints, models and furniture with particular emphasis on his studio in the 1940s.
