A gelateria with a view, Nico’s serves fine ice creams and a host of other more savoury snacks to hungry Venetians on their passeggiata along the Zattere fondamenta. Don’t leave town without trying their calorie busting Gianduiotto, a fist-sized block of chocolate and hazlenut icecream plunged into a cup of freshly-whipped thick cream. You’ll be needing a walk after that one. And if you get marooned on the canal side terrace during high water, just shout loud and the waiter will bring you some rubber boots.
