Just in case you left your party suit back home, this tiny shop just off the Ramblas specialises in ‘erotic fashions’, primarily ultra-slick PVC clothes for men and women. Skirts, tops, slacks and dresses are all available in various shapes, sizes and colours. A sister shop of similarly sleek apparel exists on the other side of the Ramblas in the Centro Comercial Gralla Hall at C/Portaferrissa 25. What the shop says about Spanish conceptions of the London market that inspires its name can only be guesssed at.
Science at Sea Harbour Tours
May 19, 2009Every summer the New England Aquarium supplements its usual exhibits by taking advantage of its surroundings and offering daily cruises of Boston harbour. The ‘Science at Sea Harbor’ tour is a 90-minute trip that explores what lurks beneath the surface of Boston Harbor, and includes interactive opportunities to pull lobster traps and check for salinity and turbidity in the harbour’s waters.
Ridiculously Deep
May 4, 2009A new Thursday night event at cinema-club Schikaneder, Ridiculously Deep is a chilled evening of Brazillian sounds, enjoyed from the relative comfort of leatherette three-piece suites or the busy bar. Classics from the bossa pantheon trade places with outthere fusions, snatches of devotional music and a substantial dose of the currently fashionable remixed variety pumped out on German labels such as Compost. Being a cinema, the accent is also on the moving image with projections of scenes from the green heart of America, cinema novo and anything the cuartors can scrape up. A cheap night out in Vienna’s kicking Freihausviertel.
